Obtaining a needs assessment from your local council is the first step if you believe that you or someone you know requires assistance to manage daily life.
This evaluation is required before the council can suggest a service like:
- Devices such as a personal alarm or walking frame
- Additions to your house, like a walk-in shower
- Useful assistance from a paid caregiver
- Daycare for your child if you or they have a disability
- Access to lunch clubs and day centers
- Relocating to a care home
Anyone can request a needs evaluation, which is free of charge.
